A joint venture between the private equity firm and JV partner Abstract Nikal is planning to redevelop the former site of manufacturer Colgate. The deal was made through Carlyle's €2.2bn Europe-focused real estate vehicle, Carlyle Europe Real Estate Partners III.

O’Connor Capital Partners has sold the 102,842-square-foot retail and commercial condominium at its landmark Manhattan House property in New York City.

The acquisition of three industrial properties in logistics hub, Akishima City, was made through the Denver-based industrial property investor’s Japan-focused vehicle, ProLogis Japan Properties Fund II.

The joint venture, capitalised with $100m, will acquire portfolios of residential properties including homes and condos from lenders and homebuilders.

Shaun O’Connor, joining the firm as chief financial officer, was previously with GE Real Estate as chief financial officer for its US and European units. He was also previously with American International Group and IBM.

The Kuwait-based investor’s latest development follows on the debut earlier this year of its $500m Shariah-compliant real estate vehicle, Global GCC Real Estate Fund II.

The private equity real estate firm has picked up two industrial properties, acquired through its value-added Hampshire Partners Fund VII and its Hampshire Generational Fund.

The German government and financial institutions have agreed to a second financial rescue package for German real estate lender Hypo Real Estate. It follows on the breakdown over the weekend of the initial €35 billion bailout scheme.

The industrial property investor’s latest deal was made through its ProLogis European Properties Fund II, launched in 2007.

The private equity real estate firm has acquired an eight-acre site in California, home to Verizon-leased warehouses and an office building. The property was acquired through its $300m Somera Realty Value Fund II.
