GPIF hires CBRE GI for global core realty

The Japanese pension giant continues to expand its manager roster to push its real estate exposure.

Government Pension Investment Fund, Japan (GPIF) has appointed CBRE Global Investment Partners as its fund-of-funds investment manager to implement its global core real estate strategy.

Asset Management One acted as the gatekeeper and the appointment is the result of the RPF for alternative investments manager in April 2017.

The pension fund managed JPY158.5 trillion of assets as at June 2018.
