New York-based private equity real estate firm Tishman Speyer has tapped former Angelo Gordon managing director Matt Brody to head business initiatives and investor relationship management.

Brody, who will be reporting to managing director and co-head of global equity capital markets Nate Shanok, will take the title of managing director, equity capital markets. Responsibilities will include leading new business initiatives and managing investor relationships and long-term investor partnerships.

Shanok, who joined Tishman Speyer in 2005, heads investor relationships globally and contributes to new product development.

Prior to joining Tishman Speyer, Brody spent two years at alternative investment manager Angelo Gordon, where he focused on capital raising and business development in the Americas. He also spent 11 years working for Chicago-based private real estate firm Walton Street Capital, where he took responsibility for client services activities and portfolio management for various real estate products. He started at Walton Street in 2006 and was promoted to principal in 2011.

Tishman Speyer declined to comment.
