TRS approves $467m in commitments

The US public pension has backed three North American-focused real estate funds.

Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) has agreed to commit $100 million to Square Mile Capital’s OCS Co-Investment fund, $250 million to Equity International’s River Washington fund and $117 million to Lionstone Partners’ Houston BBP fund, a contact at the pension informed PERE.

TRS has a 13.0 percent target allocation to private equity that currently stands at 14.0 percent. As illustrated below, it has made several commitments to real estate funds with a 2018 and or 2019 vintage, which combined constitute $5.87 billion.
